Vehicle Robbery Alert

A robbery has occurred on Belgrave Road. The victim was the driver of the vehicle. The offender approached the vehicle, tapped on the window and asked for directions.

The victim said they were not able to provide directions as they did not know the area. The offender then opened the door, pulled the driver out of the vehicle and made off with it.

We are working hard to prevent crimes of this nature and to deal with the perpetrators.

Tips to help prevent this type of crime:

  • Parkin well-lit areas
  • Always be aware of your surroundings
  • Equip your car with an anti-theft device
  • Lock your doors while driving
  • Avoid driving alone at night when possible
  • Don’t stop for apparently stranded strangers along the road. Note their location and pull over in a safe place once you’ve passed by to call for help
